Router UPS Server Switch (RUSS) Rollout

PCCi installed110 servers, 195 UPS's, 187 Cisco 2821 routers, and 280 Cisco switches at 175 PennDOT county offices and driver's license centers throughout Pennsylvania.   PCCi staff performed the software loads and detailed configurations, as well as quality control check on each server in its warehouse.  PCCi completed the project one month ahead of the four month scheduled deadline  with excellent customer satisfaction.
PCCi:

  • Received and inventoried all server, network, and UPS equipment at PCCi’s warehouse in Mechanicsburg, PA;
  • Installed PennDOT’s image on each server and performed site-specific configurations;
  • Provided facility for router and switch configuration by PennDOT’s personnel;
  • Performed TSM backup over a wide area network T3 link to PennDOT’s network;
  • Transported all equipment to PennDOT locations on the day of installation;
  • Performed physical installations of network equipment, UPS’, and servers in server cabinets;
  • Tested new server according to PennDOT instructions;
  • Inventoried both old and new server equipment;
  • Collected and inventoried existing Cisco and IBM equipment; and
  • Transported former equipment to PCCi warehouse for final check and packaged for return to IBM, Cisco, and PA state surplus.
